Occupational health & Safety policy statement

Our primary goal at Chamberlain Carpentry & Joinery Ltd is to have industry leading occupational health and safety performance – which ultimately means an injury free workplace. We are committed to a multifaceted strategy that targets risk awareness & management competence,Capture2 common standards of excellence, behavioural change, and continuous improvement, at the same time engaging with our stakeholders in a collaborative and supportive manner.

Chamberlain Carpentry & Joinery Ltd an Integrated Management System (IMS) that conforms to the international standards OHSAS 18001:2007 as well as BS EN ISO 9001:2008 & 14001:2004

The IMS comprises the Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Manual together with supporting documentation supplied in the company Starter Pack. It sets out the procedures to be adopted in procuring, executing and concluding our works in a safe manner. This is made available to public and external parties on request. This will be sent electronically or via e-mail with twenty one (21) days.

Management Commitment

The management has a continuing commitment to:

  1. Understand the implications of Health & Safety legislation on our work activities and to meet these requirements as a minimum standard.
  2. Assess our work processes and systems with the aim of identifying hazards to health and risks and meeting our responsibilities as an employer to do all that is reasonably practicable to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to health.
  3. Provide suitable and sufficient controls of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities for both our employees and others affected by our activities.
  4. Provide information, supervision and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of our work activities.
  5. Consult our workforce and engage with them on ensuring that our work practices are appropriate & suitable and innovate to find industry leading solutions.
  6. Appoint competent people to assist us in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate specialists from outside the company.
  7. Communicate throughout the Organisation the importance of good health & safety and the contents of this policy, also making all persons aware of their OH&S obligation.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant English and EU legislation and regulations and other OH&S requirements to which we subscribe.
  9. Undertake a programme of internal auditing to monitor and measure processes and the effectiveness of the Safety Management System.
  10. Undertake a Management Review of the Safety Policy & SMS in order to ensure its continuing suitability.

Safety Objectives

We commit to document, implement, maintain and continually improve the effectiveness of our Safety Management System. We will review and set objectives as part of our annual Management Review and communicate these to the company.
